Unfortunately, this extension doesn't work in the most recent version of VLC (i.e.,2.1.X) as this version misses the "lua net module" which is required by VLSub to work correctly. But don't worry, it will be added in the later version of VLC Media Player.

- First, download the VLSub extension from here.
- Now extract the ZIP file and move vlsub.lua file to:
- C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\extensions\ if you're using Windows PC.
- /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/share/lua/extensions/ if you're using Mac OS X.
- ~/.local/share/vlc/lua/extensions/ if you're on Linux.
If your Computer don't have the folder listed above then creating it manually will do the work.
- Now run VLC and play any movie of your choice.
- Click on View > VLSub (while playing the movie or video clip).
- If the movie name isn't listed, write the name of the movie and click Search by Name and wait for few moments to get the subtitles list.
Tip: You can also search for Serials but don't forget to write the Episode and Season. Try searching the subtitle by hash.
- Click on the subtitle which you think will be best for your movie and click on Download Selection button to start the download process.
- Once the download get completed, the subtitle will be automatically added to your movie and it will start appearing in your movie.
- Done.
That's All! Now you can understand the movie by seeing the subtitle in your VLC Media Player.
