How to Take a Screenshot of a Whole Webpage in Chrome & Firefox

Screenshots can be very useful for blogs, presentations, and customer care, etc. It is quite easy to take screenshots of the visible area, but there aren't many ways to take screenshots of a whole webpage. Typically, most people use extensions to do the task, however, it is also possible to take a full screenshot without using any third party extension or plugin. If you don't trust browser extensions then you can use Developer Tools in Chrome and Firefox to do the same. Chrome : You can use Responsive Design Mode in chrome to capture the whole webpage. Follow the following simple steps to see how to do it: Go to the page you wish to capture. Launch Developer Tools by pressing F12 button or navigate to Menu > More Tools > Developer tools . Press CTRL+SHIFT+M simultaneously to go to the device toolbar. Click on the " More options " button from the top right corner of the screen. Click on the " Capture full size screenshot " option. Combine Address & Search Bar in Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is one of the most customizable web browser. Unlike Chrome and Opera, you can change almost everything in the browser. In one of my previous post I showed you an interesting tweak to make Firefox look like the all new Microsoft Edge web browser. If you use Firefox as a default app to browse the web then you might have noticed that the search bar and address bar are separate in Firefox and you can't search from the address bar in most cases. Actually, Firefox's address bar also supports search functionality but you won't get any search suggestions, and you can't search a website URL using location bar. There are millions of people who use this web browser, some people prefers to use separate address and search bar while some people like 'em combined. Omnibar is a small extension which merges search bar and URL address bar into one . It also shows suggestions for search keywords and URL as you type, and you can customize the number of sugges...

Make Firefox Look Like Microsoft Edge Browser

We all know Microsoft includes a whole new default web browser called Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. It's a modern light weight app designed for better performance and compatibility. Currently, it doesn't supports any extension, and many more features are missing. Microsoft Edge's design looks quite cool and many users like it. It also includes a " Dark Theme " which can be enabled using the settings. I have already discussed about Edge in one of my previous post. Take a look at it to know all it's features and settings. Have you ever imagined if you can get the same dark theme used in the Edge browser for your Firefox? If yes then you'll surely like this post. A developer have designed a similar looking dark theme for Firefox, and he also promised to design a light version of this theme. Note: This theme is currently in developmental stage and it may have some bugs. I have tested this theme and it works quite well. Take a look at the screenshot giv...

Open Current Firefox Tab in Private Mode in One Click

Few months earlier I shared you a Chrome Extension that allows us to switch current Chrome tab to incognito in one click . There is a similar extension for Firefox which allows you to do the same. It's an interesting feature and saves you many clicks. Without this add-on, you'll have to open a new private tab, copy the URL from normal tab and paste it in the private tab. Although this add-on don't have as many feature as the Chrome Extension but it does the task very well. In the Chrome Extension which I shared earlier (link given in the first paragraph), all the additional tabs get merged in the same incognito window. But with this Firefox add-on, a new window gets created each time you click the Incognito this Tab icon. Go to this link and install this add-on on your Firefox browser. Right click anywhere in the tab you want to send to private tab and click "Incognito This Tab". Alternatively, you can click on the mask icon next to the URL bar. Th...

How to Resume Failed Download in Firefox

Today, I was downloading a very large file in Firefox and after downloading half file the Internet got disconnected and the file download failed. I thought I have to download it from beginning but I haven't so much data left to download the file from beginning. So I looked for a residual file which most browsers keep while downloading and I found a file which is of same name as the file I was downloading but with .part extension. I copied that file somewhere else to make sure I will not lose the residual file upon retry. Next, I retry downloading the file and it got started from the beginning. But I have the residual file, so I paused the download, renamed it to match the name as same as the new residual file and than I moved & replaced the new file with the old one. After this, when I resumed the download the download got started from where it was failed. Internet Problem? You can Browse Offline in Chrome . If you also fall into situation like this than don't forget ...
