You may come into circumstances when you'll only want to get the few deleted files from the earlier point of Windows. System Restore Explorer allows us to mount the system restore point and extract individual files from it. Follow the following steps to get started with this app.

  • First, download the application from this link and install it on your PC.
  • Open the System Restore Explorer app after installing it. You can see the list of various restore points on the Window. See image given below.

  • Check the date and time of the restore point. Mount the point where your individual file may be available.
  • To Mount the Restore Point, select any one point and click Mount button. It will then open Windows Explorer which contains the folders and files that you have deleted after that Restore Point.
  • Look for the file on the Explorer. Once you've found that file, Copy it to a different location (path out of the mounted folder).
  • After copying the file to safe location, go back to the System Restore Explorer app and click the Unmount button for that Restore Point.
