Add This PC, Recycle Bin and Other Icons to Desktop in Windows 10

It was easier to add This PC (also know as My Computer), Recycle Bin, and other useful items icon to the desktop in earlier versions of Windows. It is even more easy to do this in Windows 10, with little research. If it is the first time you're using this Operating System then you might be getting some trouble getting the link to add those shortcuts. Follow the steps given in this post to know the easiest way to add those shortcut icons to your Desktop in Windows 10.

By default, only Recycle Bin icon is available in the Windows 10 Desktop. Here is how you can add other icons...

Open the "Settings" app. You can find it in the Start Menu.

Then go to the "Personalization" option from the Settings app. See image given below.

Go to the "Themes" tab.
Click on the "Desktop Icons Settings" link under the Related Settings section of the "Themes" tab.

Now you'll see the old Desktop Icon Settings dialog box. In the Desktop Icons section, check the box against the icons you want to add to Desktop and click the Apply button.

Finished.

Want to add other folders located in your HDD to your Desktop? Right click on any of the Folder and then choose "Desktop (create shortcut)" option from "Send" to submenu.

If you want to add or remove File Explorer, Downloads, Settings and other options to Start Menu, follow the following steps.

Go to Settings > Personalization.
Move to "Start" tab and click on the "Choose which folders appear on Start" link.
Nowyou can customize the options according to your need.
