Check Windows Experience Index Score in Windows 10

Windows Experience Index provides score to your system based on your Computer's performance. These scores aren't accurate but it'll give you satisfying idea about your system performance or if you should look for improvements in your system. It was first introduced in Vista and used as primary benchmarking tool in Windows 7 and 8, but it was removed in Windows 8.1 and 10.

Well, they haven't removed it completely. You can still run the assessment and check your system score. There are various third party applications to check the score but I won't recommend you to use those tools. Why should you bother using third party tools if you can check it yourself?!

If you have run the assessment previously using Command Prompt then you can check your base score saved in the Games folder. To check, Open RUN and type shell:Games and hit enter button. If you don't get the score, it means you haven't run any WEI assessment in the past. To Run the Windows Experience Index assessment, follow the follow steps.

Open Command Prompt with admin rights. To open Command windows with admin rights, Right click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin). Alternatively, you can search it in the Cortana and choose Run as Administrator by right clicking on the app!

Type winsat formal in the command window and press Enter button. Now sit back and relax until it finishes scanning your system.

Once finished, open RUN dialog box, type shell:Games and Click OK. It'll open Games folder.

Now you can check your WEI Base Score in the games folder. If you want to check Graphics or Gaming Score then look for file with name "Formal.Assessment (Initial).WinSAT" in "C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore" folder. See screenshot given below.

My Base Score: 4.3 :(

Note 1: Check the date in front of the file name to see if it's the most recent Assessment.

Note 2: You can open this file using Notepad or any browsers of your choice.
